My second visit to Lumut Post Office and this time, I got the Lumut First Day Cover cancellation. The stamp issue is 150 Years Straits Settlements in September 1, 2017. Lumut together with Sitiwan and Pangkor Island were ceded to the British by the Sultan of Perak under the Pangkor Treaty signed in 1874 and became part of the Straits Settlements as Dinding.
My first visit to Lumut Post Office, Perak on May 18, 2017. Unfortunately the postal staff in charge of First Day Cover was on leave and so I could not get Lumut First Day Cancellation chop and instead used the normal Lumut Post Office date chop. Oh well, things do not always go as planned...
