Malaysia Stamps 2023 - World Post Day 2023 - October 9, 2023 Issue

Sales of this issue was postponed to October 17, 2023. Visited Pulau Pinang Main Post Office and Dato' Keramat Post Office in Penang island to create these FDCs. Use past stamp issues of Pos Malaysia and Thailand Post for my hybrid cover collection.

Malaysia Stamps 2023 - Seniman Negara - National Artists - September 26, 2023 Issue

Three stamps of 50 sen, 60 sen and RM1.30 for National Artists in Shadow Puppet Play, Visual Arts and Wood Carving. Realized these First Day Covers for my collection at George Town General Post Office (Pulau Pinang Main Post Office). 

Received a surprise FDC from another collector in Muar with nice Muar FDC and PO date cancellations. 

Malaysia Stamps 2023 - Malaysia Day 2023 - September 16, 2023 Issue

This stamp issue was postponed from Friday to Monday September 18, 2023. I visited Penang GPO to create these First Day Covers. As it was only a single RM1.30 stamp, I also added past issues of Malaysia themed stamps to create hybrid FDC for my own collection and enjoyment.

Malaysia Stamps 2023 - Penang Hill Railway 100th Anniversary - August 22, 2023 Issue

Visited Pulau Pinang Main Post Office, Air Itam Post Office and Pos Malaysia Bukit Bendera Booth at Penang Hill Bottom Station to create these Fist Day Cover with special cancellations with a commemorative train ticket to celebrate the 100th anniversary and special cover from Penang Philatelic Society.

 

Malaysia Stamps - Largest Chengal Tree - Pokok Cengal Terbesar - July 27, 2023 Issue

Featuring this Peninsular Malaysia endemic tropical hardwood tree. The largest Chengal Tree found near Dungun, Terengganu. 1) I visited Penang GPO to buy stamps, FDC envelope and get the first FDC chop. 2) Then I visited Bagan Serai Post Office in Perak as this a post office that started to have First Day chop but the Post Office had returned their chop earlier in the day and so I have to contend to buying a precancelled Bagan Serai FDC. 3) Then to chop my remaining uncancelled FDCs which I was hoping to cancel at Bagan Serai PO, I visited nearby Parit Buntar Post Office, Perak - an unplanned third post office visit. 4) Received a FDC cancelled at Jinjang Post Office from a Kuala Lumpur collector.

Bagan Serai Post Office, Perak - Visit on July 27, 2023

I visited Bagan Serai Post Office to do FDC cancellation on Largest Chengal Tree new issue but the FDC chop already returned earlier in the day. Fortunately, I was able to buy a precancelled FDC of Bagan Serai Post Office of both Largest Chengal Tree and Mountain Ranges of Malaysia from the Post Office.

Malaysia Stamps - Banjaran di Malaysia - Mountain Ranges in Malaysia - June 27, 2023 Issue

Visited Kulim Post Office, Kedah to buy stamps, cover and do the First Day Cover cancellation as I was travelling all day in Kedah. Two stamps 60 sen of Banjaran Titiwangsa (Main Range) of Peninsular Malaysia and Banjaran Crocker (Crocker Range) of Sabah, in Borneo Island. I like the long size stamp reflecting the long mountain ranges.

Added below is a First Day Cover with Bagan Serai Post Office, Perak cancellation. Bought it from the Bagan Serai Post Office - this is the first issue that this Post Office has a FDC chop.

Malaysia Stamps - Research Centers in Malaysia - Pusat Penyelidikan di Malaysia - May 18, 2023 Issue

I was travelling outside Malaysia on May 18, 2023 and so I bought this First Day Cover cancellaed at Taman Chai Leng Post Office, Penang Mainland. The 3 research centers are 1) FRIM - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (Institut Penyelidikan Perhutanan Malaysia) - 30 sen value, 2) IMR - Institute of Medical Research (Institut Penyelidikan Perubatan)- 70 sen value and 3) MPOB - Malaysia Palm Oil Board (Lembaga Minyak Malaysia) - RM1.30 value.

 

Malaysia Stamps - Malay Sultanate Coins - April 13, 2023 Issue

VIsited Parit Buntar Post office, Perak to create this FDC. There are 3 stamps (50 sen, 50 sen, RM1.50) of Malay Sultanate of Kedah, Melaka, Johor and miniature sheet (RM5) of Malay Sultanate of Kelantan.

The second cover is of past stamp issues of old coins and coin collecting hobby. Addded a cover that I mailed from Medan Tuanku Post Office in Kuala Lumpur to get a Pos Mel Nasional cancellation.

Malaysia Stamps - Pets - February 23, 2023 (23-02-2023) Issue

The First Day Cover envelopes were sold when I reached Penang Main Post Office in the afternoon. So I have ordered a set and still waiting for it to arrive and will post it here. 

Update: I have bought a set of FDC cancelled Kuala Lumpur through someone's assistance. 

Below are the stamps that I had boughtfeaturing Fighting Fish (Betta splenders) 30 sen; Domestic Cat (Felis catus) 50 sen; Budgerijar or Common Parakeet (Melopsittacus undulatus) RM1.30; Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) RM5 miniature sheet. 

I used the First Day Cover rabbit pictorial cancellation on Setem Ku Kong Xi Fa Cai (2023 Chinese New Year themed rabbit stamps) to send out my Year of Rabbit postcards to overseas collector friends. 

The FDC pictorial cancellation has heart shape symbols as this issue was originally scheduled to be issued on February 14, 2023 which is Happy Valentine's Day but was postponed to February 23, 2023 which is a special date 23-02-2023.
