Malaysia Stamps - Art of Making Traditional Kuih (Malaysia Cakes)

This is the first stamp issue of Pos Malaysia for Year 2022. The cakes depicted are Kuih Alok, Kuih Bakar (both 30 sen values0, Kuih Kapit, Kuih Jala (both RM1.50) and miniature sheet Kuih Bahalu (RM5).

The Kuih Kapit is a must for Chinese New Year and so it is great that this stamp was sold on the February 15, 2022 which is the 15th Day of Chinese New Year - the last day of the Chinese New Year celebration. In Penang, it is called Chap Goh Meh (Hokkien dialect) and worldwide Yuan Xiao Jie.

As Penang Main Post Office was closed for sanitation due to Covid 19, I went to Dato' Keramat Post Office to do my First Day Cover cancellation. Unfortunately, all the covers and 30 sen stamps were sold out. Fortunately I was able to buy stamps and coves from Padang Tembak Post Office and returned to Dato' Keramat Post Office for creating these FDC below.
